創作私語 (英文版)

Hello dear students of the National Chengchi University! I'm Ida Elina, a singer-songwriter and a kantele (Finnish Zither) performer.

It is most inspiring to meet young and aspiring artists as you are the next generation of art and I'm most excited to meet you soon.

My path in music started on my second school year when I was turning eight but I first started to play the kantele only at the age of 13. Because of starting my path with the kantele rather late I never felt like a "real" kantele musician during my years of studying at the Sibelius-Academy, the famous music university in Finland.

The turning point for me was my exchange year in Japan back in 2009. That year changed a lot of things but most importantly, it brought me to grace and changed my musical thinking. My life was never the same after seeing Adam Rafferty, a YouTube guitarist, to play his fingerstyle version of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean and realizing that this was the thing I had been searching for.

That one YouTube video catapulted me into playing pop music with my very traditional instrument and since then my dream has been to play pop music with the kantele and share hope, joy and happiness wherever I go. To be able to meet you in October and share my story and hopefully encourage you is something I highly value and look forward to!

親愛的政大同學們，大家好！我叫伊達．艾琳娜(Ida Elina)；是一位創作歌手，也是岡德雷琴 (kantele)演奏家。

即將與你們見面，我的內心充滿期待，因為你們代表著藝術的下一代，年輕、充滿抱負。這將是一場極具啟發性的會面。

我的音樂之路始於小學二年級(八歲)，但直到十三歲才開始學習彈奏岡德雷琴。由於起步相對的晚，在芬蘭著名的西貝流斯音樂學院學習的那段時間，未曾感到自己是一位「真正的」岡德雷琴音樂家。

2009 年在日本交換學習的那一年是我音樂生命的轉淚點；那一年改變了許多事情：最重要的是，它讓我走向了「優雅」，改變了我的音樂思維。看到亞當•拉夫提(Adam Rafferty) 在 YouTube 上，以指彈風格詮釋麥可•傑克森 (Michael Jackson) 的〈Billie Jean 〉時，領悟到我一直在尋找的東西，也就此改變了我的人生。

那一個 YouTube 影片引領我開始使用這種極具傳統特色的樂器來演奏流行音樂。從此，我的夢想就是能夠用岡德雷琴演奏流行音樂。在我所到之處，分享希望、喜悅和幸福。能夠在十月，與你們見面，分享我的故事—更希望能夠鼓勵你們—，對我來說是一個非常寶貴且期待已久的機會！
