Martin is a high school teacher in the middle of a midlife crisis and lacks energy both at work and home, only briefly coming alive when going out for drinks with his buddies. By chance, they come across a theory that humans are born with a slight blood alcohol content and that being mildly inebriated makes one more energetic. The middle-aged men set out on an alcohol project and imitate Churchill and Hemmingway and start each day by consuming alcohol. The faintly- inebriated Martin welcomes new life, as alcohol not only frees him from previous suppression and dullness, becoming fun and charming, but he even affects the grades of his students. However, this forbidden experiment ultimately spirals out of control.

丹麥導演，同時也是激進電影運動道格瑪95宣言的共同發起人之一，其電影作品《那一個晚上》是首部遵循道格瑪宣言所拍攝出來的電影，並獲得坎城影展評審團獎。
