Where does inspiration come from? Some say inspiration is everywhere. Do inspirations randomly drop from the sky and automatically appear on our doorsteps without intellectual labor on our end?

Does artistic creativity rely on inspirations? How does one create in the absence of inspiration? There may be clues and experiences in the vast history of cultural assets that can be transformed into creative forces.

Improvising and creativity share an intimate bond. The personality of an artist is revealed through the work, while improvising not only provides training but also presents an opportunity to know the self. As a form of expression and performance, improvising is also an authentic manifestation of personal beliefs, the observation of the present, and response to perceptions. Moments are turned into eternity as if the present moment is a linkage between the past and the future.

This is a guide talk to the All about Inspirations. The presenter will be sharing recent and past improvising events, such as Taiwan International Improvised Music Festival and Primal CHAOS - Dance X Sounds improvisation.
