A quartet formed by Taiwanese and German musicians
Berlin-based cellist LIN Hui-Chun, German Guqin musician Wolfgang Schwabe, Taiwanese pianist LEE Shih-Yang, and Dizi and Xiao performer LIN Hsiao-Feng integrate Eastern and Western instrument arrangements and various elements to present the wide variety, infinite potentials, and vibrant sounds of music. The four musicians have different educational backgrounds and have interdisciplinary experiences in performance art. The musicians will engage in the sharing of inspirations and interaction through improvising, bridging Eastern and Western cultures.

林惠君 | LIN Hui-Chun
2004年畢業於德國得樂斯登音樂院，主修大提琴演奏，2006年畢業於德國萊比錫音樂院-音樂即興演奏與教育，並隨即接任該校助教擔任音樂即興教學。2008-2012年展開一系列旅行在美國、台灣、法國等地，累積演奏、教學等經驗。2010年獲選法國Cité des Arts駐村。2015年創辦獨立音樂廠牌 Maybee Records，參與柏林即興樂團Berlin Improvisers Orchestra，2016年起與知名舞蹈肢體創作家Jennz Haack展開一系列創作。2018年與千野秀一，高橋麻理絵（中提琴家）台灣巡迴演出。
LIN is a cellist who specializes in improvisation, composition and performance. LIN is dedicated to promoting improvisation education and sound and body improvisation workshops. LIN is currently based in Berlin and teaches cello performance.
LIN graduated from University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden in 2004, majoring in cello performance. In 2006, LIN graduated with a degree in improvised music and education from University of Music and Theatre Leipzig and started teaching improvised music as a teaching assistant at University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. Between 2008 and 2012, LIN embarked on a series of travels to locations including the US, Taiwan, and France for performance and teaching. In 2010, LIN was given a residency at Cité des Arts in France, and in 2015 LIN founded independent music label Maybee Records and joined Berlin Improvisers Orchestra. In 2016, LIN collaborated with famous dance creative Jennz Haack in a series of works. In 2018, LIN gave a performance tour in Taiwan with CHINO Shuichi and TAKAHASHI Marie (violist).
李世揚 | LEE Shih-Yang
2012年與驫舞劇場合作《兩男關係》，獲選為第十一屆台新藝術獎表演藝術類年度十大。2013年與歐洲鋼琴巨擘 Fred van Hove 合作並發行《冬至：李世揚與弗雷德．範．霍夫的雙鋼琴即興演奏》，獲得美國 The New York City Jazz Record新發行榮譽提名。「卡到音即興樂團」首張專輯《四字成語》獲文化部第三屆金音獎兩項殊榮（最佳爵士專輯、最佳爵士單曲），並入圍最佳新人（團）。《慢》勇奪第二十五屆傳藝金曲獎「最佳跨界音樂專輯」。
As a musician who specializes in both classical music and improvised piano performance, LEE has collaborated with artists from backgrounds in music, theater, dance, painting, and multimedia. LEE is the convener of improvised group Ka Dao Yin and one of the founders of the Taiwan International Improvised Music Festival.
In 2012, LEE worked together with dance company HORSE in 2 Men and was listed among the Top Ten in Performance Arts in the 10th Taishin Arts Award. In 2013, LEE worked with European piano master Fred van Hove in the production of Galactic Alignment: Piano Duo Improvisation, Live in Taipei 2012 and received honorary mention by The New York City Jazz Record. Ka Dao Yin’s first music album Four Characters was awarded Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Track at the Ministry of Culture 3rd Taiwan Golden Indie Music Award, and was also shortlisted as Best New Band. Album Slow was selected as the 25th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music Best Fusion Album.

林小楓 | LIN Hsiao-Feng
A dizi performer, the performances of LIN Hsiao-Feng integrate the traditional with the Avant Garde and span across traditional music, world music, modern music, and experimental Avant Garde music. LIN has been invited to collaborate with artists from different fields over the years and explores the various possibilities of dizi music through improvising or solo performances. LIN was selected for the 2017 New Taipei City Music Star and participated in Jang-Hu Forgetfulness, LIN Hsiao-Feng Bamboo Flute Concert. Also in 2017, LIN was appointed as the convener for the interdisciplinary art exchange project between Taiwan and Malaysia. LIN was selected as the O-Bank Stars of Tiding with Tracks of Dizi Music in 2019. Lin is currently the artistic director of Lin’s Culture.
施維禮 | Wolfgang Schwabe
Born in Germany, Schwabe has doctoral degrees in both sinology and philosophy from the Free University of Berlin and National Taiwan University. Schwabe is currently an associate professor at the Department of Cultural Assets and Reinvention of Fo Guang University. Schwabe studied the Guqin under Taiwanese musician GE Han-Cong and applies traditional Guqin fingering in contemporary experimental music. In 2018, Schwabe released an improvised music album 180818 with LIN Hui-Chun. Apart from performances, Schwabe researched Guqin music from the perspective of Chinese philosophy and Western aesthetics and is one of the founders of the 2008 international academic conference "Interdisciplinary, Intercultural International Conference on Guqin, Aesthetics and Humanism." Schwabe's articles on the aesthetics of Guqin include "Investigating Guqin Music and Contemporary Western Aesthetics from the Transcendent Quality of Music" and "On the Artistic Quality of Guqin Work Autumn Moon over Han Palace from the Concept of 'Music Artwork'."
