【 演出簡介 About the Performance 】
此次開幕演出邀請二組聲音與影像藝術家共三位演出,首先為「失聲祭」聲音藝術活動策展人賴宗昀,同時亦創作NFT作品。演出從十九世紀台灣日治時期的原住民人類學攝影文獻中,蒐集一張張以凝視抵抗消亡的面容。透過機器學習技術將收集到的原民文面影像與人體組織的圖像資料庫相結合。電腦程式自動生成出它所想像的虛擬數位原住民,並結合實驗聲響、電子合成器及取樣變調等創作方式,呈現對於聽覺的可視性表現。另一組藝術家為晟SHENGX黃偉軒共同演出,晟SHENG(顏晟文)的聲音創作遊走在虛實之間,擅長取樣環境聲響並融合電子音樂,黃偉軒的影像創作透過建構數位環境,呈現想像的空間,並加入數位分身概念,穿梭於過去、現在與未來之間。
The opening performance will feature two sound and image art groups (three artists). The first is the performance and NFT works of LAI Tsung-Yun, curator of the sound art event Lacking Sound Festival. The performance spotlights faces that resist demise discovered in the 19th-century archeological photography archives of indigenous cultures of Taiwan under Japanese Rule. Through machine learning, the faces of indigenous people are integrated with images of body tissue. The computer program automatically produces "imaginative" virtual, digital images of indigenous people, which are further combined with creative methods such as experimental sounds, and electronic synthesizers, as well as resampling and modulation to present visual expressions of audio. Performance II by the art group SHENG X HUANG Wei-Hsuan will also be presented. SHENG's (YAN Sheng-Wen) sound works wander the borders of reality and the virtual, and the artist specializes in sampling environmental sounds that are further combined with electronic music. HUANG Wei-Hsuan's image works showcase imaginative spaces by constructing digital settings that are added with the concept of digital doppelgängers that roam the past, present, and future.

賴宗昀 | LAI Tsung-Yun
賴宗昀,1988年出生,現為「失聲祭」聲音藝術活動策展人。創作以音像為始,對於生命狀態意義的追尋。近年來,因大量接觸聲響表演後也開始了個人的演出計劃。自行摸索混音器反饋噪音與環境錄音,進行影像與聲音結合的表演。影像取材不少民俗宗教祭儀,配上噪音音牆更顯神秘性。2019 策劃亞熱帶振盪-失聲祭歐洲巡迴演出、2018年於倫敦Somerset House Studio策劃倫敦失聲祭,2017年受邀於兩廳院30週年紀念活動-眾聲之所戶外公演,並曾在西班牙巴塞隆納Transonic、JOLT台北澳洲聲響連線演出、日本東京Super Deluxe、上海NOISHANGHAI、香港藝術中心Sonic Anchor…等等國際演出。作品曾獲2015年臺北美術獎入選、2015年全國美術展新媒體藝術類首獎,入選台灣國際錄像藝術節及高雄電影節短片單元⋯⋯等。
2013年起擔任台灣最具代表性聲音藝術活動之一 失聲祭活動策展人。失聲祭始於 2007年,至今舉辦聲響演出活動超過上百場。今年邁入第十年,旨在推廣台灣聲音 藝術演出平台,同時也積極的與國外聲音藝術組織進行合作交流。
LAI Tsung-Yun has served as the organizer of Lacking Sound Festival since 2013 in Taiwan. Sound and image productions are the first step in his artistic career. He explores the audio mixer's feedback noise and the environmental sound, and fulfills performances which combine audio and visual. LAI's video works are based on folk religious rituals and AI art, which chain the mixed noises and oversampling test tones altogether, providing listeners a profound dip into the enigmatic soundscape.
LAI has curated the Lacking Sound Festival since 2013, which is Taiwan's most renowned sound art performance festival. Now in its tenth year, the Lacking Sound Festival has organized over a hundred different sound art performances since 2007. The Festival promotes sound art events in Taiwan and actively works with sound artist groups from abroad.

晟 | SHENG
本名顏晟文(YAN, Sheng-Wen)。作品跨足實驗聲響/電影/劇場之間,參與電影及劇場作品如:《消失的情人節》、《范保德》、《青田街一號 》、《八八》、《孤單在一起》、《寂靜敲門》等,曾多次提名入圍金馬獎最佳音效及台新藝術獎,也曾多次參與失聲祭、眾聲之所、白晝之夜、日本橫濱藝術節、西班牙MASDANZA藝術節等現場演出活動。
個人風格遊走在探究真實(Acoustic)與虛幻失真(Glitch)的聲音面向中。
現著重於聲音的取樣調變(Resampling, Modulation)顆粒合成(Granular Synthesis),融合擬音(Foley)、環境音和田野錄音(Ambience/Field Recording)加上測試音效和傳統樂器(Test Tone/Traditional Instrument),企圖呈現出融合東/西方世界觀的電子音樂場景,藉以創造出屬於未來台灣/世界的電子聲響。
Real name YAN Sheng-Wen, SHENG's works roam the disciplinaries of experimental sound/film/theatre, and the artist has participated in film and theatre projects including My Missing Valentine, Father to Son, The Laundryman, Deluge, Together Alone, and The Serene Gallery. SHENG has been nominated and shortlisted for the Golden Horse Award for Best Sound Effects and Taishin Arts Award on multiple occasions and has participated in various live performances, such as Lacking Sound Festival, Electric Indigo, Nuit Blanche, Yokohama Art Festival, and the MASDANZA art festival in Spain.
SHENG's personal sound style is a blend of Acoustic and Glitch.
SHENG's works stress the resampling, modulation, and granular synthesis of sound, which are integrated with Foley, Ambience/Field Recording, and Test Tone/Traditional Instrument, attempting to present electronic soundscapes that merge eastern and western world views to create electronic sounds that belong to future Taiwan/the world.

黃偉軒 | HUANG Wei-Hsuan
創作多以數位元影像及動畫為主,作品形式多元含括劇場影像、聲響、聲音─影像等。作品主要關注如何藉由數位元拍照建模的影像再敘述一個曾經存在或僅存於想像中的空間,重新構築出人和居處的環境在過去與未來及想像與真實之間種種浮動的關係。作品曾受邀至法國CHRONIQUES:數位想像雙年展、巴黎104藝術中心、美國科羅拉多州林肯中心、國立台灣美術館等地展出。亦曾參與臺中歌劇院、失聲祭、混種現場聲音影像演出,並擔任兩廳院、臺北藝術節製作等影像設計。目前正與荷蘭烏特勒茲劇院進行沉浸式VR共製計畫。
HUANG's works are mostly digital images and animations presented as theatre images, sounds, sound-images, and so on. The works are concerned with ways of re-narrating spaces that existed or only exist in the imagination through images modeled through digital photography and reconstructing the moving relationship between people and their living environments amid past and future, as well as the imagination and reality. HUANG's works were invited to the displayed at events and venues such as CHRONIQUES: Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques (France), The Cent Quatre (Paris), The Lincoln Center (Colorado), and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. HUANG has also participated in sound image performances at the National Taichung Theater, Lacking Sound Festival, and On Site Artfest; he is also the image designer for the National Theater and Concert Hall and Taipei Arts Festival. HUANG is currently conducting an immersive VR collaborative project for the Utrecht Theater in the Netherlands.
